This video I found very interesting and informative. The top trends discussed had a major focus on social media, especially Twitter, in which businesses and companies need to focus their attention on targeting the growing consumer base that are so interactive with this technology. Because of the tough economic times, advertisers are turning to a more money-saving approach where they will pay bloggers with a large viewer base to promote products. They are cutting down on costs yet still reaching their target audience, maybe even more so than with a traditional campaign. I think this is an extremely effective method in terms of reaching the younger demographics. With the Millennial generation dubbed the technology generation, young teens to young business professionals are heavy users who turn to the internet for…well anything. The best way to reach this group is through technology and it is becoming a necessity for companies to “jump on this bandwagon.”
